Description

These Whole Wheat Cinnamon Rolls With Freshly Milled Flour offer an irresistible flavor and simple preparation, perfect for a cozy breakfast or snack. Made with nutritious whole wheat flour, they bring comfort to your table, satisfying sweet cravings while being wholesome.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup raisins (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm milk, melted butter, and sugar. Stir in yeast and let it sit until frothy.
  2. Gradually add whole wheat flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm area until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  4. Roll the dough out into a rectangle and spread softened butter over it. Sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar evenly across the surface. Add raisins if desired.
  5. Starting from one side, roll the dough tightly into a log and cut it into 12 equal pieces.
  6. Place the cut rolls into a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for an additional 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

Feel free to add nuts or different dried fruits for variation.
Store leftovers in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
For a sweeter touch, drizzle icing on top after baking.
