Description

These Valentine Strawberry Cake Truffles bring a delightful twist to dessert, combining creamy strawberry cake with a smooth coating that’s perfect for any celebration. Quick to prepare and irresistibly delicious, they make for a sweet homemade treat that everyone will love!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 15.25 ounce strawberry cake mix
  • 8 ounce block cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • ⅓ cup cream cheese chips roughly chopped
  • 2 10 oz bags ghirardelli vanilla melting wafers
  • ½ cup wilton pink candy melts
  • ½ cup wilton bright pink candy melts
  • Sprinkles optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Bake the cake mix for 5 minutes to heat treat it.
  • Allow the cake mix to cool completely on a wire rack after removing it from the oven.
  • Beat softened cream cheese in a medium bowl until smooth and creamy using a hand mixer.
  • Fold the cooled cake mix into the cream cheese, mixing until a dough forms.
  • Incorporate cream cheese chips and mix until evenly distributed.
  • Cover dough with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
  • Scoop the dough using a 1 ½ tablespoon cookie scoop, roll into balls, and let them rest for 15 minutes on lined baking sheets.
  • Melt the vanilla melting wafers using a double boiler or microwave, stirring frequently.
  • Dip each dough ball into melted vanilla wafers, allowing excess to drip off before placing them back on the baking sheet.
  • Add sprinkles to half of the balls before coating sets, then drizzle melted pink candy melts on others.
  • Let truffles set completely before enjoying.

Notes

Make sure to properly heat treat the cake mix to eliminate potential bacteria.
Chilling the dough is crucial for rolling smooth truffles and ensuring a nice coating.
You can customize the truffles with different colors of candy melts or toppings.
