- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 1 cup plain non-fat greek yogurt
- 1 egg plus 1 teaspoon of water (optional)
Instructions
- Combine the flour and Greek yogurt in a bowl using a wooden spoon.
- Once the dough forms, turn it out onto a floured surface and knead until it forms a ball.
- Flour your hands and the surface well, as the dough will be sticky. You may need to incorporate more flour.
- Cut the dough into four even pieces.
- Shape each piece into a 4 to 6 inch long log and pinch the ends to form a circle.
- Place each bagel on a lined baking sheet.
- Beat the egg with one teaspoon of water for the egg wash. Brush it on top of each bagel and add any desired seasonings.
- Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for about 22 minutes.
- Remove the tray and increase the oven temperature to 450°F.
- Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 3 to 4 minutes until the tops are browned.
- Store the bagels in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
