Description

This Valentine 2 Ingredient Bagel is the perfect blend of simplicity and flavor. Made with just self-rising flour and Greek yogurt, it’s a quick, satisfying option for breakfast or as a snack. Freshly baked, they’re delightful with toppings, making any mealtime special.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 cup plain non-fat greek yogurt
  • 1 egg plus 1 teaspoon of water (optional)

Instructions

  • Combine the flour and Greek yogurt in a bowl using a wooden spoon.
  • Once the dough forms, turn it out onto a floured surface and knead until it forms a ball.
  • Flour your hands and the surface well, as the dough will be sticky. You may need to incorporate more flour.
  • Cut the dough into four even pieces.
  • Shape each piece into a 4 to 6 inch long log and pinch the ends to form a circle.
  • Place each bagel on a lined baking sheet.
  • Beat the egg with one teaspoon of water for the egg wash. Brush it on top of each bagel and add any desired seasonings.
  • Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for about 22 minutes.
  • Remove the tray and increase the oven temperature to 450°F.
  • Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 3 to 4 minutes until the tops are browned.
  • Store the bagels in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.

Notes

To prevent sticking, ensure your hands and work surface are well-floured when handling the dough.
For an extra flavor boost, consider adding herbs or cheese to the dough.
Bagels can be toasted and topped with cream cheese for a delightful snack.
