Description

This Shrimp Alfredo Garlic Bread is a delightful dish that features juicy shrimp in a creamy, cheesy sauce, all served on warm, buttery Italian bread—perfect for an easy, satisfying dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf italian bread, sliced lengthwise
  • ½ cup (1 stick / 113 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 pound (31 to 35 per pound) medium shrimp, peeled, deveined, tails removed
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced (about ½ cup)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 2 cups (476 g) heavy whipping cream
  • 2 cups (200 g) parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup (113 g) mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup (113 g) white cheddar cheese, shredded
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and prepare a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Spread softened butter evenly on the cut sides of the Italian bread, then sprinkle garlic salt on both halves.
  3. Place the bread on the baking sheet and toast it in the oven for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
  4. In a skillet, heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
  5. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent, followed by minced garlic.
  6. Add the medium shrimp, kosher salt, and black pepper, cooking until the shrimp turns pink, about 3 minutes.
  7. Pour in the heavy whipping cream, and bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
  8. Stir in parmesan cheese, additional kosher salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes until the cheese melts and the sauce thickens slightly.
  9. Remove from heat and mix in the mozzarella and white cheddar cheeses until well combined.
  10. Spoon the shrimp mixture generously over the toasted bread, ensuring it's evenly distributed.
  11. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Feel free to use pre-cooked shrimp to save time.
Adjust the red pepper flakes based on your spice preference.
This dish is best served immediately for optimal flavor.
