Description

This Peach Crisp is a delightful dessert that’s easy to prepare and packed with flavor. With ripe peaches and a crunchy oat topping, it’s perfect for gatherings or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 pounds ripe peaches, peeled, pitted and cut into 8 pieces
  • 2/3 cup white granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup dark brown sugar, packed
  • ¾ cup white all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ stick salted butter, cut into very small pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Grease a 9-inch baking dish with non-stick spray and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the sliced peaches with the sugar until coated and set aside.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, rolled oats, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  5. Incorporate the diced butter into the flour mixture using a pastry blender or fork until coarse crumbs form.
  6. Add vanilla, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt to the peaches; toss to coat evenly.
  7. Pour the peach mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  8. Spread the crumb topping over the peaches evenly.
  9. Bake for 45-50 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and juices bubble at the edges.
  10. Remove from the oven and allow to rest for 15 minutes before serving.
  11. Serve with vanilla ice cream and a sprig of mint if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of cloves to the topping.
Make sure the peaches are ripe for best results.
This dish tastes great warm or at room temperature.
