Description

Ground Beef Alfredo is a comforting dish that pairs savory ground beef with a rich, creamy sauce and pasta. Perfect for a quick dinner, this recipe brings rich flavors from simple ingredients, ensuring a delicious homemade meal for family and friends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef 85–90% lean
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Pinch red pepper flakes
  • 3 Tablespoons butter
  • 3 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk room temp
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 ¼ cups freshly grated Parmesan NOT pre-shredded
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper or white pepper
  • Pinch nutmeg
  • 12 ounces fettuccine or any long pasta form
  • Reserved pasta water

Instructions

  1. Boil salted water and reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining the pasta.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Add garlic and spices; stir for one minute. If greasy, drain excess fat, leaving a little for flavor, and remove beef from the pan.
  3. In the same pan, melt butter over medium heat and whisk in flour. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes without browning. Slowly whisk in milk and stir until thickened. Add cream and stir to combine. Simmer gently for 3 minutes until thickened.
  4. Lower the heat and stir in grated parmesan, salt, ground pepper, and nutmeg, mixing until smooth and silky. If too thick, add a splash of pasta water.
  5. Add the beef back into the pan along with the drained pasta. Toss until coated and glossy, adjusting the consistency with reserved pasta water until it clings beautifully.

Notes

Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for added nutrition.
Adjust the seasoning according to your taste preference, especially the red pepper flakes for spice.
