Description
This grilled corn on the cob recipe is a summer essential, featuring sweet, juicy corn slathered with butter and seasoned to perfection. It’s simple to prepare and perfect for cookouts or a quick dinner!
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 full-size corn on the cob (ears) – with or without husk
- ¼ tsp oil if using a griddle pan, otherwise optional
- 30 g butter or dairy free alternative plain/herb/garlic/chilli/dulse/etc
- seasoning salt/pepper/herbs/chilli flakes/etc
Instructions
- Prepare the butter and seasonings ahead of time.
- If the corn has a husk, peel it back and remove all the silk and tassels, exposing the kernels.
- Preheat the barbecue, grill, or griddle pan on high heat.
- If using a griddle pan, lightly brush it with oil. No oil is needed for BBQ or grill, but you may brush some on the corn surface if desired.
- Place the corn on the barbecue grill, under the kitchen grill, or in the griddle pan.
- Turn the corn frequently until it turns a deeper yellow color and has slight charring, which should take about 8 to 10 minutes. Avoid overcooking as it can dry out.
- Remove the corn from the heat and serve immediately with your favorite butter and seasonings.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider mixing herbs or spices into the butter.
If using a BBQ, make sure the coals are glowing red for optimal heat.
Grilling time may vary slightly depending on the method used.
