Description
These crockpot boiled peanuts are a delightful treat with an irresistible flavor. Simple to prepare, they require just raw peanuts, salt, and water. Perfect for snacking or sharing at gatherings!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs raw peanuts in shells
- ¼ cup salt
- water
Instructions
- Rinse and sort the raw peanuts, removing any debris. Soak them in cold water for about 30 minutes, then drain.
- Place the drained peanuts in the crockpot and mix in the salt. Add enough water to cover the peanuts with about an inch of space at the top.
- Set the crockpot to high and cook the peanuts for approximately 7½ hours, or until they reach your desired softness.
- Taste a peanut halfway through the cooking process; if additional salt is needed, stir in more salt to taste.
- Monitor the water level as the peanuts cook. Add more water if it dips below the peanuts to keep them fully submerged.
- Once the peanuts are tender and well-seasoned, drain them and serve warm, or store for later snacking.
Notes
For extra flavor, experiment with spices like garlic powder or cayenne.
Store boiled peanuts in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
These peanuts make a great addition to game day snacks or casual gatherings.
