Description

  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons granulated garlic
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon coarse ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 8 hamburger buns
  • lettuce, tomato, and red onion for serving, plus your favorite condiments

Instructions

  1. Prepare a grill fire to about 300°F using hickory or oak wood for smoke.
  2. Combine the brown sugar, garlic, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and dry mustard to make the steak rub.
  3. Mix the seasoning blend into the ground beef and form into 8 patties, creating an indentation in the center of each.
  4. Place the patties over indirect heat and cook with the lid closed for 5 minutes.
  5. Flip the burgers and continue cooking until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
