- 6 granny smith apples, cut into 1/2" pieces
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- 8 tablespoons butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- In a bowl, mix the diced apples with lemon juice to coat them. Sprinkle flour and cinnamon on the apples and toss well. Pour this mixture into a 9" pie plate.
- Drizzle about 1/2 cup of caramel sauce over the apple mixture and set aside.
- In a large bowl, blend the softened butter, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and oats until it forms small crumbles. Spread this topping over the apples.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before drizzling with more caramel to garnish. Enjoy!
