Description

These BBQ Ribs are a treat for meat lovers! With their tender texture, smoky rub, and delicious BBQ sauce, they shine as a main dish for gatherings and special meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 ½ teaspoons granulated garlic or garlic powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ to ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 racks pork baby back ribs, 2.5 to 3 pounds total weight
  • ½ cup bbq sauce, or as needed

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F and position the oven rack in the center. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. Prepare the dry rub by mixing the spices in a small bowl.
  3. Rinse the ribs under cool water and dry with paper towels. Remove the membrane if necessary.
  4. Place the ribs, meaty side down, on a large piece of heavy-duty foil. Rub about a third of the seasoning mix onto the bony side, then flip and apply the rest on the meaty side.
  5. Wrap the ribs tightly in the foil and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 2 hours until tender.
  6. Once baked, switch the oven to BROIL. Carefully place the ribs on the baking sheet, bony side up. Brush them with BBQ sauce, then flip and coat the meaty side.
  7. Broil for 4 to 6 minutes, watching closely until the sauce caramelizes.
  8. Let the ribs rest for 5 minutes before slicing them into individual pieces.

Notes

For an extra kick, adjust the cayenne pepper to your taste.
Feel free to customize the BBQ sauce based on your preference for sweetness or tanginess.
These ribs pair excellently with coleslaw or cornbread for a complete meal.
