Description

These Baked Apple Cider Donuts deliver an irresistible flavor with a simple prep. Made with fresh apple cider, buttermilk, and warm spices, they’re a delightful treat for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1½ cups apple cider
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In another large bowl, combine the apple cider, sugar, buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla. Whisk well.
  4. Pour the apple cider mixture into the flour mixture and stir until just combined.
  5. Grease the donut molds and fill each about 2/3 full with the batter.
  6. Bake in the oven for 7-9 minutes or until golden brown and springy when pressed.
  7. Cool for 2 minutes, then gently remove donuts from the molds.
  8. In a bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon. Brush donuts with melted butter, then dip in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  9. Serve warm or at room temperature.
