- 1½ cups apple cider
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large mixing bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another large bowl, combine the apple cider, sugar, buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla. Whisk well.
- Pour the apple cider mixture into the flour mixture and stir until just combined.
- Grease the donut molds and fill each about 2/3 full with the batter.
- Bake in the oven for 7-9 minutes or until golden brown and springy when pressed.
- Cool for 2 minutes, then gently remove donuts from the molds.
- In a bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon. Brush donuts with melted butter, then dip in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
