Scale
- 1 cup diced apples
- 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- 1 cup 2% blended cottage cheese
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon almond milk, plain, unsweetened
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 375℉.
- Add the diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon into a bowl and toss to coat the apple pieces evenly.
- In the same bowl, mix in the flour, baking powder, and salt, stirring until combined.
- Incorporate the blended cottage cheese and mix using a wooden spoon or spatula until a dough ball forms, then knead inside the bowl.
- On a lightly floured surface, turn out the dough and divide it into 4 pieces.
- Flatten 2 pieces of the dough on parchment paper to form round fritters.
- Air fry the fritters at 375℉ for 4 minutes on one side, then flip and fry for another 4 minutes until cooked through.
- While fritters cook, prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar and almond milk in a bowl.
- Once cooked, dip the fritters into the glaze and place them on a wire cooling rack to set.
- Let the glaze set for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Ensure not to overcrowd the air fryer; cook fritters in batches if needed.
Adjust the sweetness of the glaze by adding more powdered sugar if desired.
