- 1 cup Unsalted butter
- 3 TBSP Dry milk powder
- 1 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder (sifted)
- 3/4 cup All-purpose flour
- 1 TBSP Cornstarch
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 cup White granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup Powdered sugar
- 3 Large eggs (room temperature)
- 1 Egg yolk (room temperature)
- 2 TBSP Oil (canola or vegetable)
- 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a large frying pan over medium heat, melt the butter while stirring occasionally. When it becomes bubbly and foamy, add the milk powder and continue stirring until it turns amber in color.
- Add the sifted cocoa powder and heat for another 30 seconds. Transfer the butter mixture to a bowl and freeze for 15 minutes to cool.
- Preheat the oven to 350℉. Spray a 9×9 inch square pan with nonstick spray and line it with parchment paper, then spray again.
- In a small bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, and salt; set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, mix the granulated sugar, powdered sugar, eggs, and egg yolk using a mixer on high speed for 3 minutes.
- Remove the mixer and add the cooled butter, oil, and vanilla. Use a spatula to mix, adding the dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 34-36 minutes until the edges are set but the center is slightly underdone. It will finish baking while cooling.
- Allow the brownies to cool in the pan, then remove and cut into 16 squares.
